Atnas graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Business from Saint Mary’s University in NS Canada in 2005. During his time in university he was a dual athlete playing both basketball and American football . Following graduation, Atnas was drafted into the Canadian Football League where he then spent a number of years playing American football in Canada, America and throughout Europe.
Following Atnas’ football career he started working as a youth worker and teacher’s aid in inner-city schools for troubled youth. This passion for youth work brought him to Australia in 2011 where he spent 6 years in Gapuwiyak Community in East Arnhemland working as a Youth Sport and Recreation Coordinator. It was here he gained extensive experience working in the youth and sports related industries throughout remote NT. Atnas has led his young players to compete at all levels of competition including the National School Basketball Championships in Melbourne in 2014 and the U14 NT Basketball Championships in Darwin in 2015.
Atnas commenced as Program Manager with Bush Fit Mob in December 2017 and enjoys working and living in the beautiful Groote Archipelago with his partner and two young children.
