I’m Franceska Fusha. I’m 25 years old and I was born and raised in my beautiful country of Albania, located in Europe. English is my second language, and I speak in my native language, Shqip (Albanian). While my roots are in Albania, my journey has taken me across continents. At the age of 8, my family and I relocated to Perth, Australia and also lived in the vibrant city of Melbourne before relocating to incredible Groote Eylandt.
Sports have always held a significant role in my life. I began gymnastics at the age of 5, and it quickly evolved into a passionate career. I’ve had the privilege of competing at local, national and international competitions, Some of my proudest achievements are consecutive years of being named WA State Champion and National Champion. Representing Australia on the international stage, including participation in the Youth Olympic Festival in 2013 and earning the title of ANZ Junior Sport Star of the Year. Additionally, I had the opportunity to train with the Olympic squad, pursuing my dream of participating in the 2016 Olympics and Commonwealth Games.
My interests expand beyond sports such as fitness, achieving a Cert IV in fitness. I’m also passionate about beauty and arts, recently gaining qualifications in Makeup and Hair Styling. And I’m currently in the process of completing a Bachelor’s in Sports Science and Primary Education. Some of my hobbies include painting and drawing, dance, soccer, watching movies and I love spending time at the beach and swimming.
Over the past three years, I’ve been fortunate enough to engage and connect with remote indigenous communities across Australia in some truly incredible ways. Leading dance workshops, contributing to music videos, and building connections with both the youth and elders have brought me great joy. As part of my Bush Fit Mob role, I aim to share my knowledge in fitness, sports, and beauty while also forging strong relationships within these communities. I’m excited to connect with all the youth and learn from the traditional owners and soak in their wisdom about their culture, land, and country. This journey promises not only personal growth but also collaborative opportunities and a deepened respect for the rich heritage of the land I’m fortunate to work on.
