Vanessa graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2001 from Saint Mary’s University following on to then complete a Bachelor’s degree in Design from Ryerson University in 2004. Vanessa worked as a designer for Canada’s largest architecture and design firm before making the move to Australia with her partner in 2011.
With Vanessa’s background in both art and psychology she took a role as Youth Sport and Recreation Coordinator in Gapuwiyak Community in East Arnhemland where she ran the OSHC program for almost 6 years while obtaining her Certificate IV in Sport and Recreation through Charles Darwin University.
Vanessa’s experience working with remote Indigenous children and youth as well as her extensive experience in project management has served her well as Program Coordinator for Bush Fit Mob. She now lives in Alyangula with her partner and two young children.
