The Groote Eylandt archipelago is the home of the Warnindilyakwa people who are known by their language name – Anindilyakwa.

Over 1500 people inhabit the three Indigenous Communities of Angurugu, Umbakumba and Milyakburra and are serviced by the Bush Fit Mob program.

Cultural traditions remain strong within the families of the Groote Archipelago and are passed down through the generations and songlines. On-country programs which focus on connection to country and traditional skills such as hunting, fishing, weaving and painting will be an integral part of the Bush Fit Mob cultural program. We also assist the community schools in their on-country excursions and participate cultural festivals around the NT and Beyond.
